My kids love chocolate. I love chocolate. Pretty much everyone loves chocolate. The problem is that chocolate is generally high in sugar and fat and won’t propel you towards your health or fitness goals. The good news is that this smoothie will! Plus it tastes almost like a Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup. Better yet, it contains only 326 calories, 3.5 grams of fat, 51 grams of carbs and has a whopping 31 grams of protein, which makes it a delicious, well-balanced breakfast option!
Now for a few notes on the recipe itself. I highly recommend using Genuine Health’s Fermented Greek Yogurt Proteins+ in this smoothie because it results in a super creamy texture that is reminiscent of a chocolate milkshake. In fact it’s probably the creamiest natural protein powder I have every used! You may also be wondering what PB2 is…well let me enlighten you.
PB2 is a dehydrated peanut butter made by pressing peanuts to remove 85% of the fat and calories of regular peanut butter. The amazing thing is that somehow it manages to retain all of its flavour! Conveniently for me, my fave local health food store Kardish now carries PB. Alternatively if you are not local, you can always order it online on the Bell Plantation website where you can also find lots of yummy PB2 recipes.
